Class Information

 

Non Swimmer / Beginner

  • Aged 4 and over

  • Over 110 cm tall

  • Unable to put their face in the water

  • Unable to take their feet off the floor

  • Working on Swim England Stage 1 & 2

Intermediate Swimmer

  • Can fully submerge 

  • Can float on their front and back unaided 

     

  • Are able to travel on their front using arms and legs for a minimum of 3 metres 

     

  • Are able to travel on their back using arms and legs for a minimum of 3 metres 

  • Working on Swim England stage 3

Improver Swimmer

  • Is able to travel on their front

  • Is able to travel on their back

  • Is comfortable and confident in deep water

  • Working on Swim England Stage 4 & 5

Advanced Swimmer

  • Able to swim up to 2 lengths as a minimum

  • Able to do this using front crawl and backstroke

  • Able to complete 1 length using breaststroke and butterfly

Rookie Lifeguard

  • RLSS UK’s Rookie Lifeguard programme provides varied lifesaving and rescue activities. Built into the programme are lessons in valuable survival, rescue and sports skills all delivered in an exciting way that will get children involved and motivated. 

  • Children must be able to swim a minimum of 3 lengths of frontcrawl, backstroke and breaststroke.
